The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to performing engineering duties on a site level. The role of Industrial Engineer is to be a catalyst for change and bring about continuous and sustained improvement. The measurement of success in this position will be based on qualitative and quantitative review of the impact in the areas of:

Best Methods development and cost reduction leadership
Work measurement development, implementation, and program maintenance
Project Management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides engineering support for process development and improvement initiatives to reinforce the goal of Operational Excellence in a 3PL environment
Assists in planning, developing and maintaining partnerships with Best Practices within Engineering group in regards to quality system implementation, maintenance and improvement
Executes a variety of deliverables, which include improvement projects, corrective and preventative action
Provides change management guidance, assists with process and equipment validation including but not limited to development, training, documentation and reporting
Generates and assesses metrics for dissemination of trends that affect service quality and customer reviews through the use of statistics and quality engineering tools
Creates charters, presentations, technical and entitlement reports for management, cross-functional teams, customers and professional groups
Communicate and influence all levels of the organization by embodying and exhibiting team spirit at all times
Has an understanding of technical requirements associated with continuous improvement programs, such as lean principles, kaizen events, process mapping, value stream mapping, best method and work standards development, etc.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to resolve issues and conflicts, both internally and with external customers and supply chain partners as necessary
Takes ownership and personal responsibility to achieve results
Ability to respond effectively and quickly to both internal and external customer needs and issues
Space planning and layout design (ability to use CAD)
Ability to assess the effectiveness of processes already in place
Inventory and slotting/zoning assessments
Performance standards/metrics
Index and scope creep management
ROI analysis
Operational audits
Multivariable Regression testing
Site optimization modeling
Travel required
Customized training – Six Sigma – works toward obtaining Green Belt.
Become familiar with the company pricing concepts for proforma interpretation
Customer presentations on core engineering responsibilities
Practices safe work procedures, and follows all safety rules at all times
Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by senior management

Strong understanding of and prior work experience with Supply Chain strategies
Operational experience in a distribution/warehousing/transportation environment
Strong financial background, with the ability to understand and interpret data needed to communicate the financial impact of chosen strategies to staff and the customer
Strong presentation and project management skills
Ability to execute tactical requirements of the business in support of the strategic plan, strong emphasis on process/continuous improvement
Strong understanding of Operating System (Operational Excellence)
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check if applicable
Education/Relevant Experience

Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from a four-year college or university with one (1) to three (3) years’ experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Complete company Leadership Development courses and participate in presenting material for these courses
Communication Skills

Excellent communication skills – (written, verbal, email, etc.) Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence,
Proven success interacting with the client (relationship building)
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective communications among and with various departments, facilities, and customers
Ability to influence per persuasion and not just by positional authority is a requirement, as is the ability to be flexible and supportive to other departments in effectively achieving goals for the company
Additional Skills

Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills are required
Proactive and ambitious – ability to create and execute action items to include items that may not be on Gantt chart or “to do list”
Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly)
Involvement with senior management both internally and externally
Ability to represent company vision and initiatives through demonstrated personal character and work ethic
Ability to make appropriate delegation decisions
Break through barriers, correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results – follow through to improve processes
Mentor associates in departmental methods
Standard MS Office skills to include: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project ( a plus), Access (a plus)
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
