Position Description: The Business Development Specialist is primarily responsible for identifying and qualifying business opportunities in the local commercial market. Working with a team of Specialists we will focus on target commercial verticals and profiles. To be most successful in this position, the Business Development Specialist – Metro Markets must have previously demonstrated themselves as a high energy, tenacious and have that hunter sales professional mentality with proven results.

Requirements:  *Bachelors Degree preferred *A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in sales role *Strong capacity for mastering product knowledge for consultative technical sales *Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate professionally in person and in writing *Ability to quickly overcome sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches *High energy, competitive and success motivated *Direct IT experience a plus *Contacts in city, county and local government agencies a plus *Proven success of selling a complicated solution. *Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and excellence in all business activities

Duties and Responsibilities:  *Seek out targets and initiate contact with multiple prospective clients. *Understand the product offering to find the best solutions for potential clients. *Make presentations about our products and/or services. *Manage and interpret client requirements; speak with clients to understand, anticipate and meet/exceed their needs. *Work in collaboration with the existing sales team by building and fostering team relationships to ensure total client satisfaction. *Solicit support from and communicate effectively with internal staff. *Record and maintain client activities and communication in CRM application. *Positively and credibly influence decision making process through high quality and timely quotes, proposals and presentations. *Meet/exceed sales targets by maintaining a sufficient activity and sales pipeline. *Establish new and maintain existing long-term relationships with clients. *Attributes for Success • Ability to combine technical knowledge with sales skills • Self-motivated • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Demonstrate excellent listening skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment • Knowledge of government agency business processes • Works without supervision in qualifying new leads and developing effective strategies for accounts • Develops effective rapport with coaches, influencers and decision makers within client base • Tenacity • Analytical and problem-solving skills
