Job Summary: Classifies, records, verifies and maintains numerical data for use in maintaining private wealth financial transactions and records in various accounting software programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: • Develop proficiency with financial and accounting software solutions for tracking private wealth • Compiles and sorts documents, such as account statements, capital account analysis, K-1s, appraisals, closing statements, invoices, checks, documenting private wealth transactions • Verifies and posts details of private wealth transactions, such as marketable securities transactions, partnership transactions, family loans, family and charitable gifts, and all other funds received and disbursed. • Prepares invoices, checks, account statements and reports and other reports and reviews them for accuracy. • Reconciles cash and marketable securities account statements • Monitors loans and accounts payable and reviews to ensure that payments are up to date • Reconciles and recommends resolution for report discrepancies and problems • Coordinates and prepares pertinent information for clients and their external professionals • Ability to understand when a client life event affects or causes changes to assets/liabilities or cash flow and the ability to record in the clients financial accounting database • Ability to view client/family “big picture” and propose new reports to better communicate scenarios to clients. • Advanced to Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel a must • Electronic filing of all documentation substantiating the private wealth transactions in proprietary software, iPaladin • Electronic maintenance of all fiduciary tasks relating to essential duties and responsibilities in iPaladin • Electronic filing and virtual maintenance of client reports in iPaladin • Development & maintenance of customized client chart of accounts in Financial Navigator • Development & maintenance of custom investment/cash flow & net worth reports in Financial Navigator • Codes data for input into Financial Navigator consistent with individual client’s CPA and customized chart of accounts • Install and maintain Financial Navigator software updates • Periodic checks on system security and back ups and communication with IT support team Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation with people representing a variety of backgrounds and skill levels • Ability to organize, process and multi-task and establish priorities, even when many critical tasks may arrive in a short time span • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership • Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines • Ability to communicate project completion and project status data • Must possess working knowledge of cash and marketable securities accounts, taxes, and general business financial conditions • Ability to operate telephone, photocopier, and computer workstation • Ability to operate in a paperless environment • Must possess intermediate knowledge of a financial system - Quicken, Quickbooks, etc. • Ability to research issues using expert materials available on the internet • Advanced to Expert level use Excel and Numbers • Ability to learn additional MAC and PC software independently • Detail oriented • High degree of mathematical ability Educational and Experience Requirements: • Certified Public Accountant or MBA in Finance • 3-5 years experience in Tax & Accounting Firm • Trust & Estate experience a plus • Advanced to Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Public Accountant Language Skills • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents or government regulations • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business and general community at large • Ability to prepare reports, write business correspondence and assist in the development and update of procedural manuals • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, clients, public groups, and/or board of directors Mathematical Skills • Ability to perform basic accounting functions using automated system • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such interest, partnership transactions, percentages, capital gain/loss
